Are those yours? Can you eat them? That's pretty cool. I remember growing up on the West Coast (Surrey, BC) we had two plum trees, a couple of apple trees and a walnut tree. Through the summer I don't think we ever went inside for lunch! ;o)
Yes :) My stepfather planted a lot of plum trees here, and grapes, plus an orange tree and a walnut too. Since then, a lot of wild plums have grown up like those in the pictures, a wild pecan tree, and some black berries. The yard is way out of control but the birds and squirrels are happy.
It sounds wonderful! When I was a kid in BC we had a very large yard but we were also right on the edge of Surrey. Right over the fence was nothing but wild forest and meadows of blackberry bushes. That's where I lived most of my days until about 10 or so when we started moving east.
All the fruit trees are one thing I miss about California. Then again you don't have all the raspberry and blackberry bushes all over, like you do up here.
I would like to live by an orchard. My grandparents had a great yard with peach trees and almond trees. Here is not so great, there are nice parts but yucky parts too - I just don't photograph those :)
