- The Supreme Court on Wednesday struck down the Defense of Marriage Act and declined to reinstate California's Proposition 8.

- One of the arguments made by conservative Christians against marriage equality is that it does harm to children adopted by same-sex couples. That argument has been contested by studies and experts and with the Supreme Court's ruling against DOMA, one hopes it's finally dead: The Supreme Court Kills the 'Gay Marriage Is Bad for Kids' Argument

- Meanwhile, the US Catholic Bishops become ever more irrelevant to those both inside and outside of the church.

Hi Dina,

Thanks - that's interesting. I didn't know the AB of C was visiting Israel or that his father was Jewish. He seems like a very ecumenical person, with his interests in Judaism and Catholicism.

HE didn't know either, about his father. It came as a shock.
