650 children

So, what has been happening to the children separated from their parents? If you believed the Trump administration you would think that problem's been solved. Nothing could be further from the truth.

Of the all children (2500+) the court ordered the Trump administration to reunite with their parents, 670 still have not been reunited because the Trump administration has deemed them "ineligible". Why? The reason for most (431 parents) is that the government deported the parents while keeping their children. The California judge for this case has ordered the Trump administration to find these deported parents and reunite them with their kids. Thanks God Trump hasn't been able to totally suborn the judicially of the country. Yet.

Here's more from Morning Joe on all the details, including a really chilling FRONTLINE interview clip with the past acting director of ICE, Tom Hollman ....

Thanks for posting that link, Crystal. I have heard others repeat Hollman's simple-minded mantra that "we're only treating these people the same as a US citizen who gets arrested." No, we're not. Because the autborities know where an arrested citizen is being held. And they know where the children are. They are with the other parent, or another family member, if that's possible. If not, they are with foster care. They didn't just disappear through a worm hole like it seems these children and parents have. I can't believe any federal agency could be so incompetent at basic record-keeping.

Hi Katherine. It seems like that was the plan ... no plan. There was no effort from the start to keep track of everyone because they had no intention of ever reuniting them. It's a kind of terrorism, basically stealing children to punish their parents for coming here. If it wasn't for the ACLU and others bringing suits on the behalf of some of these immigrants, who knows what would have happened to all those kids.
