Tree

Here is a picture of one of the little trees we got from the electric company (and also kitties Mouse and Olive). He's an interior live oak (the other tree is a maple). We chose him because he is fast growing and drought resisitant. Here's a photo from the tree place of how he could eventually look ...

I have kind of a black thumb so I hope he makes it.

Oh good, you got your trees!
I know there are many kinds of oaks. We like ours. It has lots of acorns this year, the squirrels are happy.
A lot of people here try to plant weeping willows, but they don't seem to do very well. Too dry, I guess.

I don't think I've ever seen a weeping willow tree except in pictures. Maybe it's too hot here. This area lots of oaks and also pine trees and you can see a lot of Modesto ashes and California sycamores. I think we're still supposed to get the bubba desert willow someday, but they are so popular that we night have to wait a long time.
