Kermit was born about this time, eighteen years ago. I took some pics of her yesterday but they all turned out blurry, so here is one from a few months ago. Happy birthday, Kermit! :)
Yeah, this picture makes her look very good but she's not doing so well, actually. Her liver is so enlarged that it sticks way out on one side, she still has the kidney problem, and can't walk very well. I'm dreading taking her to the vet in case they tell me something I don't want to know. She's still eating, though, and I take that as a good sign.
I guess that would make her pretty old in human years if what they say is true. I've heard it said that not counting the first year but every other year after should be multiplied by 7 which would make Kermit about 120 years old.
No matter how old, it's never easy to see one of our loved one suffer.
This week we took our ten year old grandson who has Cystic Fibrosis for his check up. The good news is that his lungs are improving but his liver is enlarging and there's also a problem with his spleen.
What more can I say except that only God knows what's best for everyone of us. Some may call me crazy but I truly believe that everything will be OK when we make it to Infinity and Beyond with all our Loved Ones walking side by side with God's Angels on our way to Spiritual Heavenly Grade One in order to someday become Perfect like Our Heaven Father is "Perfect."
God Bless all His Loving Creation and I have no doubt that on occasions He also hurts greatly seeing all that suffering in His World and I’m also sure that Jesus His Only Begotten Son keeps reminding His Loving Father that He promised “US” all “Free” Will.
I could go on and on but I better stop now and just saver the moment.
I know how much you love Kermit, and how much taking care of her gives you purpose. I hate to ask this, but what will you do when she's gone? Will you get another cat? I know Kermit can't be replaced, but will have another cat for companionship?

Hi Mike. I hope you're feeling well. Kermit says thanks.
How's Kermit been feeling? Last I heard you had a sick kitty.

Hi Victor,
Thanks for the good wishes for Kermit. I'm sorry to hear about your grandson. He'll be in my prayers.
Crystal,

Jeff,
I think about that a lot. I'll be really lonely without Kermit but I don't want another pet. I'm hopig I won't be here for long after she's gone.
That's why I'm asking, Crys. Please don't speak that way.
Don't worry. Maybe I'll join a nunnery instead :)
18 years old??? wow! Hope my Zizou will get that old...he is 8. Happy Birthday Kermit (with a delay)!
Thanks, Paula. Zizou is still just a baby :)
