Home alone
When I went to fill the birdbath this morning I saw that someone had tried to break into my house during the night - a back screen door was torn and ajar, a window screen had been torn and another completely removed. I did wake up once thinking I'd heard something and looked out a window but blind as a bat I couldn't see anything and I decided it was just the squirrels - scary to live alone sometimes :(

Hi Matthew.
How awful, Crystal! I've had my car stolen on one occasion, and a coat on another, but never had this happen with my home... I'd have shivers too. Blessings, m'dear!
Denny,
Thank you! It's been hard to go to sleep since then :) So far, so good, though - maybe it was just an anomaly.
Crystal,
I've been fasting from posting and so I am just now reading this post! This is horrible. You are probably right that it's an anomaly but can you ask your sister to help you install a light with a motion detector in the back? It's not expensive and it can deter someone who wants to do this again. Since I live in NY I believe it's better to be safe than sorry. Take good care of yourself my friend.
Henry,
Thanks! The day after it happened my sister did help me put a light at the back door. It's just a regular one that's on all the time, not a motion sensitive one, but it does make me feel better. The sherrif guy I talked to afterwards said there have been a lot of breakins in this neighborhood - eek :(
