Happy Pentecost
- Getijden van de Heilige Geest
I came across Holy Spirit in the World Today Conference talks which has mp3s of Rowan Williams, Jürgen Moltmann, and others. And here's an article from a past post on Yves Congar - The Contribution Of Yves Congar's Theology Of The Holy Spirit.

Yves Congar is great. Thanks for posting the link to that article. His work on the holy spirit and in the ecumenical movement was almost a first in the Catholic Church. He was under Roman suspicion forever but John XXIII liberated him when he was chosen (much to the chagrin of the curial Cardinals) to be a peritus (or expert theologian) at the Second Vatican Council. At one time, it took him three years to publish a book because the work had to go through 13 censors. He was in exile for a while and was stalked because he talked to Protestants...oh the horror!! Choosing him to be a theologian at the last council I imagine must have been as shocking as if Hans Kung was chosen to be an expert theologian at the next council. The fact that Kung was a theologian at the last council is definitely something worth noting.
Hi Carnival,
was stalked because he talked to Protestants...oh the horror!!
:)
Thanks for the info about Yves Congar. I haven't yet read much about him. His situation sounds a little like John Courtney Murray's - he was also in the dog house much of the time before Vatican II, but was then chosen to attend against all odds.
Oh, I wish for a Vatican III!
