Choose your favorite baptism

I can't decide which scene of Jesus' baptism I like best - the one from Jesus or from Jesus of Nazareth ...

I vote for the first, the friendly Jesus.

Have you seen Leif's post at

http://eagandailyphoto.blogspot.co.il/2013/01/blessing-of-blackhawk-lake.html
in which the local Orthodox Christians do a Theophany blessing of the waters on a frozen lake in Minnesota!
I think Christianity and baptism would never have gotten off the ground if it had started in the freezing cold waters of MN instead of the Jordan.

I really do like the first one best too - that Jesus seems so much more happy. Michael York made an interesting John the Baptist in the second one, though.

Thanks for the link - brrrrr! :)

Crystal for what "IT" is worth, I like both of them. The first "ONE" is simple where Jesus simply leaves U>S (usual sinners) chose what we want to do but when all of U>S stray too far to the left or right, GOD (GOOD OLD DAD) simply touches U>S in some way and quietly says, 'That's will be enough out of ya my little retardo Peter cause all of your weakest strongest spiritual reality cells know that "I'M" really The SON of GOD.

The second,I found to be more suphisticated than the first because "IT" does branch out into so many areas that even someone as myself with only a simple two year occupational course could write a book about "IT" and even go on to start their own "Religion" if they chose to do so.

Dina, I have not checked Leif's post yet but with all due respect, NOW, I would have to strongly disagree with you and say that if they were truly called by GOD, I believe that not any backward live could stop "IT". Kind of like in the first clip of Jesus Baptist because long story short, we're all "ONE" in Christ although GOD loves all HIS children, HE doesn't necessarily agree with everything we might dew at the times.

I hear ya! If ya say so sinner vic. :)

If "I" may before I live, I mean leave, thank you for being so patient with me in the past and I'll close by saying that a LOT of Catholic people seem to place "The Sacraments" as something that most be done. Kind of like a to do list in order to stay a Catholic. When a child is born, they might say, I've got to have "IT" done and so on for the other sacraments. Sounds kind of like having to make a sacrifice to gods. Don't be surprise if a priest is heard asking some in the future if they want that child rare or well done? :(

Longer story short, GOD is so busy loving all of U>S that we end UP thinking that we're NOW all in heaven.

Victor, sorry, my comment was meant to be read with humor. I should have added a ;) or :) to make that clear.
I think what the Orthodox church members did on the frozen lake was awesome.
