Vicky is so pretty! Did you know most orange cats are males? I have a female and a male. I've grown rather fond of opossums--since I learned they eat a lot of ticks! Years ago I knew a professor who rescued tiny babies from the pouches of mother opossums hit on the road. He raised them, and said they lived around 3 years. That's not very long. He told me they are so vulnerable to being killed by cars because they seek the warmth of the road on their feet.
You're right about Vicky - when we took her to the vet for a cat bite, we found out she was a neutered male :) But by then I had been thinking of her as a girl for a couple of years and I can't seem to change. The little possums are so cute and strangely the cats don't try to hurt them.

They co-exist with the outside cats here too when they come to eat cat food on the porch. Who knew my cats were so generous?
