Rose garden
Above is the previous White House rose garden from the time of Jackie Kennedy.
Now ...
The original White House rose garden is on the left, and Melania's new version is on the right (goodbye Katherine crabapple trees, tulips, and other colorful flowers).
I guess what Rick Wilson said is true - everything (Melania) Trump touches dies. You will know what I mean if you will recall her Christmas decor.

The thing is, she could have left it alone, and just let it be maintained. Nobody would have said anything. She wasn't expected to change it and make it look like Versailles. Except she didn't. It's been compared to cemetery landscaping.
I read that it was in preparation for Trump speaking from there all the time leading up to the election. So maybe there's a silver lining. He'll be associated with the new ugly look.
I'm meh about it. The Trumps make me mad for their lack of empathy for real people. Gardens can be repaired later. The kids separated from their families will be scarred for life.
Yeah, true. She just always seems to make such an out-of-step choice when she does this stuff. Remember her fashion choices when she was sent to visit Africa? It was like she got her wardrobe from Colonizers R Us.
