It's like what people would have experienced in combat. It was combat Some of those officers will carry physical scars and injuries, not to mention PSTD, for the rest of their lives. For people who like to say "Blue lives matter", the Repubs certainly haven't supported those officers. I was reading today that the chief of Capitol police, Steve Sund (he resigned shortly after Jan 6) said that credible intelligence that the insurrection would occur was not shared with him. There was some inside stuff going on. No wonder the Rs don't want a bipartisan investigation. The trails would lead back to some who were in high places.
Yeah, that's what I think too. The Republicans in Congress want us to forget about it before the midterm elections, but the people who are being arrested now for what they did at the riot will be going to trial up until that time. No one will forget it.
