We're imposing sanctions against Putin and his government, but it feels like it's just not enough. Everyone says that we can't help Ukraine militarily. Why not?
Because both Russia and the US have nukes, lots of them. It's MAD, mutually assured destruction, that didn't go away with the cold war days. I've read lots of hyperbole about this being the worst conflict since WWII. But if Russia and the US get into it, it really will be WW III.
But what this means then is that Russia can do anything, and we will always let them, because we're afraid that he is crazy enough to nuke everyone. He can constantly blackmail the world.

It stinks, I don't know what the answer is
I see in the news this morning that Putin has put his nuclear arsenal on high alert, whatever that means. He may nuke us anyway.
