Our periods
In the news is the story that Florida governor Ron DeSantis wants to track schoolgirls' periods. That's not quite accurate, in that the state of Florida has been asking schoolgirls about their periods for years. It's just that now they are considering making the answers mandatory. And they aren't the only state that does this - most states do, including California.
But it's not just schools. I recall this from the Trump years ...
The U.S. Is Tracking Migrant Girls' Periods to Stop Them From Getting Abortions
I've got to say, what the hell? Why should any school or government agency have the right to be involved in a female's reproductive life? Same question for religious institutions like the Catholic church (see Natural Family Planning, a failed teaching concieved by celibate men).

I'm not in favor of abortion, but I don't think making it a political litmus issue is right. Anyway this is just plain creepy. Periods aren't anyone else's business. I grew up back in the stone age, but no one would have dreamed of asking girls about their periods. Heck we barely even talked about them. At least we had a right to our privacy.
If it's Florida doing this, aren't they the state that is so concerned about the government being too much in everyone's business?
It is about Florida and the laws and decisions Ron DeSantis has been making, seemingly trying to win the approval of the most extreme MAGA base. It's likely he's going to try to get the Republican presidential nomination and he has to out-Trump Trump. I grew up in the stone age too :)
