At the zoo
Everyone, hold your horses! The Zoo is thrilled to welcome not one, not two, but FOUR new foals at our conservation facility in Front Royal, Virginia. Keepers are celebrating the births of a Hartmann's mountain zebra filly, a Przewalski's horse colt and two Persian onager colts.… pic.twitter.com/Me2gKbZghe

I've always been fascinated by Przewalski's horse. With their buff colored bodies, white bellies, black mane and tail, they look like the horses in the ancient cave pictures. They are not exactly genetically the same as the domestic horse, but are close enough that they can interbreed. I'm glad they are protecting them and trying to increase their numbers.
Zoos really do a lot of conservation work now.
