Just watched the Discovery Channel's Jesus Tomb documentary ... what a cheese-ball production. For a more reasoned review, check out Mark Goodacre's post ... here.
* PS * Ben Witherington also has a detailed review of the show - here
'cheeseball production' - that made me smile this morning (funny!).
I didn't see the show - it's hard to believe they made 2 hours out of it, but I skimmed through Goodacre's review of it. I agree with his assessment that this will eventually die-down.
Thanks for the heads-up and the link to Goodacre. Good to know.
I've been very busy lately, what happened to the post about Grandpa?? I loved that! You got rid of it before I had a chance to comment on it. I thought it was a beautiful testimonial.

The title of this post made me laugh this morning.
We had a power outage last night - a cut cable? or fundamentalist conspiracy to prevent me from watching tv?
;)
Thanks. Since I don't get the discovery channel, it was nice to get the reference to Goodacre's review. "Cheeseball production"... sounds like it.
Wow...I forgot all about it. But now that you mention it...Cheeseball...mmmmmmmmmm
Hi you guys -
Cheese-ball was the least offensive thing I could think of, considering the quality of the show :-)
Also interesting was the critique afterwards with Ted Koppel, an archaeologist, a biblical scholar, and a few religious spokespeople.
Mark did a gereat job of an over-view.
Hi Crystal,

Jeff,
the grandpa post bit the dust, as so many of mine do, through second thoughs ... wo want s to read about my personal life? :-)
"Cheese-ball production" is poetic in that it says a great deal in very few words.
Hey, I want to read about your personal life! And I'm sure I'm not the only one.
Susan, you already know all of my personal life :-)
This is a blog, Crystal. Write about your personal life!
Laim, when you write about your conversion experience, then ... :-)
Did the show say anything about Ringo?
