Friends, we're going to a wedding!

Heh :) I love that line from the movie Jesus, where Jesus invites John and Andrew to accompany him to the wedding at Cana. But the wedding I'm talking about here is that of Commander Will Riker and Counselor Deanna Troy of Star Trek. It takes place in the (sadly, not so great) movie, Nemesis, and I thought those who are not die-hard fans enough to see the film might at least like to see some wedding party pics ....

- Captain Picard makes a toast

- Data singing the Irving Berlin song, Blue Skies

- Geordi and Guinan

- the Captain and Dr. Crusher

- the happy couple

Blue Skies

I was blue, just as blue as I could be
Evry day was a cloudy day for me
Then good luck came a-knocking at my door
Skies were gray but theyre not gray anymore

Blue skies
Smiling at me
Nothing but blue skies
Do I see

Bluebirds
Singing a song
Nothing but bluebirds
All day long

Never saw the sun shining so bright
Never saw things going so right
Noticing the days hurrying by
When youre in love, my how they fly

Blue days
All of them gone
Nothing but blue skies
From now on

Nice pics!

I always try to be aware of what I'm getting into when I shell out the shekles for a movie. I didn't go into Nemesis thinking I was going to be viewing a film-making masterpiece destined to become a timeless classic. I was looking to just have some fun and I found that they did a very good job making a fun movie and putting characters I liked into some interesting situations. From that perspective I liked it, and I'm not afraid to say that Teamouse and I have seen it more than once. (in addition to her on-going obsession with the infamous Mr. Dep she also has a certain fixation on Patrick Stewart...LOL!)

I was surprised that Riker #2 wasn't on the guest list...I always wondered if he felt put out by that?

Did you know that there's another Star Trek movie in the making? My son downloaded the trailer on his PS3 the other day. Sounds like they're going right back to basics;

From IMDB

"A chronicle of the early days of James T. Kirk and his fellow USS Enterprise crew members during their time at Starfleet Academy. Comes a new vision of the greatest space adventure of all time, "Star Trek," featuring a young, new crew venturing boldly where no man has ever gone before. At this time, the Earth is going through a number of political changes. With the recent establishment of the Coalition of Planets, extraterrestrials are becoming more common and accepted by Humans. In addition, there is talk that the militaristic United Earth Stellar Navy may be merging with the exploratory Starfleet. Written by Anthony Pereyra"

Some of the cast looks interesting too; Chris Pine - Kirk, Zachary Quinto - Spock, Eric Bana - Nero, Winona Ryde - Amanda Grayson, Zoe Saldana - Nyota Uhura, Karl Urban - Leonard 'Bones' McCoy, Bruce Greenwood - Christopher Pike, John Cho - Hikaru Sulu, Leonard Nimoy- Spock, Simon Pegg - Scotty, Anton Yelchin - Pavel Chekov, Greg Ellis - Chief Engineer Olson

Not due out until next May though.

Hi Cura,

I liked it too - I actually own it :) I liked Insurrection better, though, I think. Maybe I just didn't like Data dying.

I think Riker #2 is still languishing in a Cardassian prison - didn't he get captured by them in an episode of Deep Space Nine?

That is an interesting cast. Leonard Nimoy- Spock :) Chekov will really be Russian this time? I was so disillusioned when I saw the actoor who played him show up on Babylon 5 without the accent.

Ah...that explains it...never really got into DS9. I thought the cast was interesting too...putting new faces on the old roles should prove to be very interesting!

I was a little (just a little) surprised to see they weren't doing anything with 'Enterprise'. It really didn't do well though, but I think it got a bad rap. The Characters were very well done in that one but the writers went a little screwy when they dedicated an entire season to the crew's blind run of vengeance into a foreign galaxy. They should have stuck to the whole 'unplugged' first crew meeting new civilizations for the very first time.

;o)

I never really liked "Enterprise" but I did like DS9. Riker #2 came there pretnding to be Riker #1, but really he had become a member of the Bajoran terrorist group and he stole a ship from DS9 intending to use it against the Cardassians. He was caught, though.

Funny - one of the actors from "Enterprise" (Trip) and Colm Meany (Chief O'Brien) of STNG have both shown up in recurring roles on Stargate Atlantis.
