In Rome
- the Sistine Hall of the Vatican Library
I'm still reading the novel The Last Ember, and the characters are visiting lots of interesting places in Rome, including the Colosseum (the only place they've been so far that I've been too), the Vatican Library, the Domus Aurea, a huge (now) underground palace built by Nero, and San Pietro in Vincoli ....
San Pietro in Vincoli (Saint Peter in Chains) is a Roman Catholic titular church and minor basilica in Rome, Italy, best known for being the home of Michelangelo's magnificent statue of Moses, part of the tomb of Pope Julius II. Also known as the Basilica Eudoxiana, it was first rebuilt on older foundations in 432-440 to house the relic of the chains that bound Saint Peter when he was imprisoned in Jerusalem ...
I remember this statue of Moses from art history class - he has horns :) ....
