Second cousins Jesus and John

Today's reading - Luke 1:39-45 - is about Mary visiting Elizabeth, her cousin, who was pregnant with John the Baptist. You rarely see the relationship between Jesus and John shown in the movies - they often seem like strangers to each other - but in the movie Jesus, the relationship is shown. In the clip below we see Jesus visiting John around his campfire at night after having left home to start a new career. John and he reminisce about their childhood experiences .....

Wow, that's exciting stuff. I never knew about this movie.
Wonder why they gave John that accent.

Is the Luke passage really the lectionary for today?? I didn't realize that. But last night something told me to blog about the visitation.

Hi Dina,

Yes, that accent was a bit strange ;)

I usually look at Creighton University's calendar here to see what the readings are for the day, otherwise I'd not know. Liuke was for today here (Friday) but where you are it's already Saturday :)

Personally speaking! I think "IT" is great that they make movies about Jesus cause at least U>S (usual sinning) humans will known that The Son of "MAN" at least existed.

I hear ya! Some would probably say that if they were to write books about GOD (Good Old Dad) and Company, there wouldn't be enough wood in the world to supply but "ONE" of HIS THOUGHTS! :)

Go Figure! :(

Peace

By the WAY, MERRY CHRISTMAS Crystal

Love that movie. It was your occasional mention of it that caused me to get it for our parish library! The tempting is very real, isn't it?
