I understand what he's saying about the fear that Hamas will use any time off to regroup and bring in more weapons. But surely the Israelis have the place surrounded and under surveillance enough that they could notice that activity. I would think there is a limit to how far the tunnels can extend.
I was watching something about the tunnels on the news, and they extend into Egypt too, and it's amazing what has been smuggled through them over the years. Makes me think of the catacombs under Paris.
