Jaws
How ‘Jaws’ Made a Template for the Modern Blockbuster
Fifty years ago, Steven Spielberg’s “Jaws” terrified moviegoers. Its shocks still reverberate. Its blueprint is now so recognizable that you have probably seen “Jaws” — even if you haven’t actually seen “Jaws.” ...
I remember Jaws very well because when it came out, I was in college and had a part-time job at a local movie theater, an iconic group of domes with extra wide screens which, sadly, have since been demolished.
But anyway, Jaws was so popular that people stood in lines that wound throughout the parking lot to buy tickets. We workers would schedule our breaks so that we could watch various parts of the movie ... mostly parts where people got eaten.
Maybe I'll look for it at the library :)

I remember seeing the original Jaws movie. It was certainly suspenseful. When we walked out of the theater afterwards I was surprised to feel my body relax. I didn't know I had basically been tensed up the whole time!
I think humans really aren't used to the idea of being prey items for other animals!
