Have you ever wondered what a food syringe looks like? Of course you have :) This is how I've been feeding Kermit since she lost her appetite - you have to use a really squishy food like Science Diet's a/d and it's kind of messy, with food getting more in my hair and under my nails than in Kermit. Today after my sister leaves work , we'll be off to the dreaded vet appointment.

Finally back. The vet thinks the reason Kermit isn't eating and is retching when I feed her is that she has a liver tumor that is now so big it;s squeezing the other organs and her vagus nerve. This sounds bad, but it's better than I feared. I was worried she had cancer that had spread to her throat. The liver tumor is benign, so it won't spread. The normal thing is to operate and reduce the tumor in size, but Kermit's kidney disease probably rules out anesthesia. So we're waiting for lab tests to come back and will think about what to do then.
This sounds bad but I'm so relieved Kermit's still here :) Thanks for all your kind wishes.

At this point I am just thrilled that Kermit came home with you! I was really worried that it would be much worse. Thank God.
