At the water hole today
First this bird came to the bowl of water - is he maybe a Rufous-crowned Sparrow? ......
To take a bath ....
But he was chased away by this bigger yellow-billed magpie ....

They are.....they're lovely. I don't see any rufous on the first bird's head, though. You should consult with Indigo Bunting.

Thanks, Susan, I'll look her up. My sister thought he might be a robin?
It's definitely not a robin--at least not the ones we see in the East. Actually, it looks a lot like the picture in your link. No obvious rufous on his head either.
