Funny how something so common became the symbol of Ukrainian resistance. I have sunflower coffee mugs, dish towels, and pot holders. Now every time I see them I whisper a prayer for the Ukrainian people; it's about all I can do. Various charities are collecting funds for refugee relief, we can give them something.
We have a lot of wild sunflowers here, they bloom in late summer. When I was a kid they were a reminder that it wouldn't be long until school started again.
