Somaliland

So, recently Israel recognized Somaliland, and though Somaliland declared its independence in 1991, Israel is the first country to do that.

Everyone else didn't like it. African, Arab, and European countries decried the move. Britian is against it - how does the fact that the area used to be a British protectorate affect their decision? Makes me think of Britian's refusal to let go of Scotland.
