Crystal, thank you. This is a rich offering of pieces I think I'll keep reading even after I've read them initially. I find Father Marsh's homily challenging and powerful.
And the more I read about Bishop Kevin Dowling, the more I long for more bishops like him around the world.
Hi William,
Thanks. I too think Bishop Dowling's an interesting guy. Fr. Marsh has lots of great homilies at his blog - he was my spiritual director for a time :)
I read today a strong statement from Stephen Lewis, Co-Director of AIDS-Free World, given today at an International Conference on AIDS. You can find it at: http://allafrica.com/stories/201112060911.html.
Denny,
I went to the link but had to look around for the speech - it was here ... http://allafrica.com/stories/201112060911.html ... is that the same one? It was very interesting - I didn't really know anything about the Global Fund. It's depressing that so much seems to stand in the way of actually helping people with AIDS - all the politics, the money worries, the disagreements about policy - and meanwhile more people die.
PS - in the statement, he mentioned a speech by Robert Carr - I was able to find a video of that here ... http://youtu.be/Zkw7fP4XO7I
This was in yesterday's Jerusalem Post:

Hi Dina,
That plan sounds very ambitious and hopeful.
