Crystal is mean
OK, I'm mean. The pope is retiring, he's ill, he's elderly, and yet still I've been uncharitable enough to post the reasons I did not appreciate his papacy. In my defense, I don't dislike him as a person (hey, he's an animal lover like me) and I do wish him well in his retirement, but for me, a Vatican II fan, an inclusive church fan, a fan of ecumenism, he was a disaster as a pope. And I'm not going to apologize for still wanting to hold him accountable for the way the sex abuse scandal was handled - people have died because of that. If that makes me mean, so be it.

Well said, Crystal! And, no, I don't think you're being mean. Have you seen Clay Ferris Naff's piece at The Huffington Post? He identifies five "largely ignored or discounted facts about Pope Benedict XVI that any Cardinal with a conscience should take into account when considering a new pontiff." It's worth a read, and can be found here.

Crystal there's not a mean bone in your body cause people have a right to their opinions just like when "Jesus" walked as "ONE" of GOD (Goood OlD Dad) WORD made Flesh and Jesus allowed all his apostles their say but as you know Jesus was still very supportive of them even when they made mistakes and He corrected then in HIS OWN WAY and will continue NOW.
Personally speaking I hope that who ever replaces His Holiness will always continue to be against abortion, contraception and gay marriages and I also hope because I feel this way, "IT" doesn't mean that "I'M" also mean? Does "IT"?
I could go on and on but as usual, we'll just have to agree to disagree and let The Holy Spirit set U>S (usual sinners) on the straight road cause me, myself and i honestly believes that GOD Loves all of HIS Children and HE'LL never let go of any of U>S NOW.
