Disabled

John Oliver talks about disabled people in the US (there are about 70 million), and the programs that support them. For me, those were SSDI and Medicare/Medi-Cal, which I qualified for when I was first diagnosed with Stargardt disease just after college.

I'm grateful the government gives disabled people an income and health insurance, but the problems surrounding which program you can qualify for, how much you can receive, how getting a part-time job, or getting a finacial gift, or trying to save money, or even getting married can doom you .... it's depressing.
