I'm ok

Sorry about that last post. I was in the pit of despair. But today i had an appointment with the doctor and he made me feel a lot better. He said these are early days and the scars will change a lot, but that anyway, I had cancer and this is what it took to get rid of it, and that's nothing to be ashamed of. So now I only have to worry about running out of toilet paper before the end of the coronavirus apocalypse.

Glad you are feeling better. Yes, everyone is going nuts buying stuff. I like the German word for panic buying, "hamsterkauf". I can't believe the stores here are out of rice, just ordinary white long grain rice!

Hamster buying? :) I took German in college but I don't remember a lot. Today my sister and I went looking for toilet paper and were able to find a few rolls at an out of the way drug store. It's impossible to find rubbing alcohol. It's like we're in some post-apocalyptic movie.

I'm sorry you have to deal with the surgery and the reason for it, but I'm glad you're still blogging! I'd feel bad if I couldn't find you here.

I've been self-isolating for the past couple of weeks because of my age. Lucky that my kids aren't far away and they can work at home. Grandsons (6 and 8) have been in cyber school all year, and we're grateful for that. It's a scary time, though. I miss the good old days when I had only Trump to worry about. :-)

I’m glad you’re feeling better. I had Mohs surgery twice on my arms for skin cancer a few years ago and the scars are almost invisible.

Hi Liam. It's good to hear from you. I think I remember you once telling me about your sister too having had skin cancer as well. So grateful for my Irish skin ;)

Yeah, she had it on her nose, but it wasn’t melanoma. I had it on each arm, also not melanoma.

Mine not melanoma either. My sister also had it. Maybe more widespread than I realized.

For those of us with this skin. I’m careful with the sun now.

I actually had a much more serious cancer last year, but they cut it out of me.

Yeah, it was pretty brutal, especially since I got really sick and needed an emergency second operation in the hospital to save my life, but I cam through. It was a weird Christmastime.
