The verdict

This verdict, Chauvin found guilty on all counts, was a relief. It would not have happened if not for the brave and caring bystanders who recorded what took place. I understand the worry that this was an exception, how depressing it is that it took such an extreme event to get the justice that should have been expected. But maybe this is the beginning of real change. I hope so.

I especially have to admire Darnella Frazier, the teen girl who recorded the whole incident on her phone. From what I am reading, the outcome of the trial pretty much hinged on that video. I'm sure she was intimidated and threatened while she was doing it, but she persevered.
Thank goodness for young tech-savvy people. By the time I would have figured out how to do that with my phone it would all have been over. The last time I tried to record video footage I accidentally had it in selfie mode and all I got was a close-up of my nose.

Yeah, the observers of the incident were so brave, especially her. I would have been too intimidated, too worried about making the police mad. I still have no idea of how to make the video recorder on my phone work. Must try to figure that out. That is making such a difference in the world now.
