Today's stuff

I hurt my back a couple of weeks ago it's still bothering me. Maybe I need a new mattress to replace my old lumpy saggy one? Or maybe I should go back to having a Japanese style futon instead? Any advice? Meanwhile, some of what I saw today ...

- the ex-pope returns to Vatican City, and in case you were wondering how your church contributions are spent, The Tablet reports that the renovations to his new home cost more than a million dollars - yikes!

- Jane Shaw has an article on complementarity in the Church Times. It's for subcribers only but Thinking Anglicans has it posted.

- from the past at Religion Online ... Nature’s God: An Interview with Nancey Murphy

- a rare free past articles at New Blackfriars ... Why the Devil Fell: A Lesson in Spiritual Theology From Aquinas's Summa Theologiae by Jeffrey McCurry

- and pets need buddies too :) ....

Sorry about your back :( Is that a tree sawing related injury?

Thanks. I wasn't doing anything strenuous - just carrying groceries - but I think it never really got back to normal after I hurt it last summer. I sent for a back book from the library - maybe it will shed some light.

Love the talking dog but sorry about your pain.
Yeah, I think firm mattresses are the best. My hard futon one is on a wooden frame just inches off the floor.
After getting a compression fracture in my spine from an archaeology work accident the pain was almost unbearable for a few weeks, especially getting up from the low bed.
Now I'm not supposed to carry >5 kg in my backpack, but hey, ya gotta get groceries if ya wanna eat.
Take care, Crystal. Feel better.

Ouch, Dina - compression fracture sounds very painful! Maybe a firm mattress/futon would help - my back seems to feel worse when I first get up.

Crystal, I'm sorry to hear about the back pain. Too bad you don't have a million dollars to spend on treatment and a better bed! :-)

We slept on futons on the floor for years, and I have to say that, though I have liked sleeping on the floor from childhood forward, the experience for my back grew less and less desirable. That could be a function of aging, though.

Once we bought a really good mattress for a change, and chose the bed instead of the futon, it began to make a real difference for my own back pain.

Hi William,

Thanks. It's true, it's all so expensive! I was hoping a futon would cost less than a mattress, but I guess they're about the same. Maybe I should try a hammock ;)

crystal, I just saw this cause I`ve been away for a few days to visit your United States of American, well, let`s say that I simply crossed your board her, "I" mean border and my wife and i really enjoyed ourselves for a couple of nights.

Back on topic...i'm sorry to hear of your sore back but "I" must be honest and say that "IT" made me laugh. Forgive me but my dad, god bless his soul would literally ask his children and friends to walk on his back when "IT" was very sore and believe "IT" or not, he would then later say, thank you, my back feels a lot better now.

As far as that dog video which I never saw before, but "I" have seen another of his making and "I" must say that this guy is very good. For people who believe in the super natural, "I" must say that "IT" could be come very scary if they're not careful. Honestly, my youngest brother has a hound that looks just like that one and he's such a sensitive, loving dog and trust when i say that even i, me, and myself with a little work could make you believe that he could talk.

There are strange things done in the midnight son, "I" mean sun for the men who moil for gold, the artic trails have their secret tails, "I" mean tales that could make your blood run gold, "I" mean cold.....

I hear YA folk! What are YA talking about Victor? :(

Go Figure! :)

Peace

Hi Victor,

The closest I've come to Canada was at Niagara Falls.
